2023 Estate Cabernet Merlot

53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 3% Cabernet Franc.

All parcels were selectively harvested and fermented in open fermenters. Pumped over twice daily to aid the extraction of both colour and flavour.

Colour: Deep red with a purple hue.

Nose: The aroma is an enticing medley of dark fruits and subtle oak influences. Ripe blackberries and black cherries take center stage, accompanied by hints of cassis and a touch of plum. Beneath the fruit, there are delicate notes of cedar, vanilla, and a whisper of tobacco leaf.

Palate: Dark fruit flavors abound, with blackcurrant and blackberry leading the way, providing depth and complexity. The influence of oak is evident, contributing nuances of toasted oak, mocha, and subtle baking spices. A backbone of fine-grained tannins add structure, and balanced acidity keeps the wine fresh and lively.
